CHALLENGE

Since the beginning of the Crimean annexation and conflict in eastern Ukraine in 2014-2015, about 1.5 million Ukrainians have been forced to leave their homes.

Some criticized the new settlers, blaming them for the situation.

Stigmatization needed to be prevented – local communities and displaced persons needed to find common ground.

SOLUTION

We decided to stress empathy: Showing how unexpectedly war can change your life, and that those changes are completely beyond your control.
